ResxEditor

ResxEditor is a simple tool that helps non-developers to translate text resources for .NET applications. The tool operates directly on the .NET resource files (.resx). The tool allows users to open multiple resource files. All translations are displayed side-by-side for easy editing and review.

Tutorial

Step 1 - Start the tool

An entry was added to the Windows start menu during installation. use that to launch the tool.

Step 2 - Open a set of resource files.

Select a set of resource to edit the text resources side-by-side. Note that you can select multiple files by holding down ctrl and clicking on the files.

ResxEditor will show all text resources side by side so you can easily see the value for the default language and the translations.

Step 3 - Edit the text

In this case the resources for German and Dutch are not yet entered. Click any of the fields to change the value. You can use copy/paste if needed. Columns may be resized as needed.

Step 4 - Save changes

Save your changes through the 'File' menu. If you exit the application without saving you will be prompted to save the changes.
